In what was billed as a free speech rally, Philip Anderson, a free speech activist who runs an organization called Team Save America, was viciously attacked before the event could even begin.
Anderson was being escorted through the barricades when a mob descended upon himself and another individual. Several of the counter-protestors, who were wearing black block, physically assaulted Anderson and, in the process, knocked out his two front teeth. Anderson, a black man, has previously been vocal against Antifa, the Black Lives Matter movement, and tech censorship.
The free speech rally that was to take place today in San Fransico was a permitted event in response to Twitter, Facebook, and other social media sites censoring conservative voices.
Through social media posts in the days leading up to the event, Anderson claimed that several of the keynote speakers were themselves suffering from accounts that had been restricted or suspended only after it was publicly announced that they were participating in this event.
The plan was to have speakers come together and tell the story of the censorship they faced.
That was the plan. However, things did not go as planned. Instead, a group of 500 or more Antifa and Black Lives Matter protestors showed up to counter-protest. They lined up along the partitioned metal barricades and shouted down the speakers. They then began launching water bottles and other projectiles at the speakers as they took to the microphone.
When the free speech group, along with Anderson, decided to end their planned event and attempted to leave the area, the counter-protesters dressed in black clothing descended upon them. Projectiles were thrown, and the scene quickly devolved into chaos.
Anderson was able to escape and went to a hospital. While in the hospital, Anderson Tweeted a video asking the former Vice-President and current Presidential candidate Joe Biden if Antifa was still just an idea as he held up one of his teeth.
The police escorted the rally attendees out of the area in an attempt to get them to safety. Police vans were used to usher as many people as possible away from the scene and to a parking garage where their vehicles were located.
Anderson was not the only one assaulted Saturday. A man and woman were seen being chased by the violent mob of domestic terrorists, also known as Antifa before the man, who was wearing a Trump shirt and hat, was viciously attacked from behind. The man was later taken away via a stretcher by SFFD members with his leg stabilized.
In the video, you also see a woman, also wearing a Trump hat seemingly assaulted by a much larger man in a blue shirt, who rips off her hat before running away.
