Updated: One man killed while waiting in line for a job application outside of an Amazon Warehouse. Two others were grazed by gunfire and were treated and released. Police are searching for two shooters and a getaway driver who fled after the shooting in a silver car. According to police, this shooting looks like a targeted shooting.
At least two people were shot Monday afternoon at an Amazon distribution facility in Jacksonville Monday afternoon, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
While information is limited, the shooting was reported to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office just before two. It was not immediately clear if anyone was killed or if a suspect was in custody. It is also unclear if the shooting happened inside or outside of the facility. A photo of a man possibly being treated by medical staff, reportedly taken from inside the facility was posted on Twitter by a local reporter.
Police plan on giving an update at 1645 today.
This warehouse shooting follows Saturday’s shooting at a Walmart distribution facility where a gunman rammed his vehicle into the entrance of the warehouse located in Red Bluff, California. The gunman exited the vehicle and entered the warehouse shooting a total of six Walmart employees, killing one. Police arrived on the scene and exchanged gunfire with the suspect, who was shot and killed. The suspect was a former employee, who was fired in 2019.
There was also another shooting at a Springfield, Illinois Bunn-O-Matic warehouse where a gunman killed three people Friday, June 26th before killing himself.
