Well, peaceful protests turned violent yet again as shootings were reported in several cities last night.
In Seattle’s occupied protest zone formally known as CHAZ, now known as CHOP, one person was killed in a shooting. Just a short time later, another protester was shot and injured. While police reported there have been several calls from residents regarding assaults, arsons and other crimes, these are the first reports of shootings inside the zone. While the Mayor says the protest is peaceful, many residents have been reporting incidents of violence, heavily armed guards, arsons and extortion.
In Atlanta, shootings continued into the night with a series of shootings. Early in the evening a protester arrested after a shooting during a protest at an intersection. According to reports, a man was upset that protesters were blocking the street. When he appeared to drive through the crowd a series of gunfire can be heard in several videos as protesters opened fire. According to police, no one was injured.
Another protester was shot in the leg near the Wendy’s where Rayshad Brooks was killed by a police officer a week ago during what appears a massive gunfight between protesters and was captured on camera. Viewer Discretion is advised.
When police came to investigate the shootings, they were chased out of the area by protesters.
Protesters in Raleigh, North Carolina and Washington D.C. tore down confederate statues.
