Terror in the skies: Hero flight attendant and passengers tackle a man who tried to storm the cockpit of Delta flight
Mid-flight, a man aboard a Delta flight from Los Angeles to Nashville tried to break into the cockpit in mid-air while screaming “Stop this plane!”
Flight attendant Christopher Williams and passengers restrained him with zip ties.
Cellphone footage posted to Twitter shows Williams wrestling with someone who is out of view of the camera behind a row of seats.
“FLIGHT ATTENDENTS, I RESPACT Y’ALL,” the caption reads, followed by a clapping hands emoji.
Rich wrote on Twitter, “@Delta this man needs an award.. just saved the plane. LA flight to Nashville.”
The flight had to be diverted to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where it made an emergency landing around 2:20 p.m.
After a landing, the passenger was arrested by airport police and turned over to the FBI, a spokesperson from Albuquerque International Sunport Airport told FOX 11.
The FBI’s Alburquerque division confirmed that they were responding to the report of the diverted flight.
