The Illinois State Police and the Illinois Trucking Association are warning truckers of a planned protest this afternoon that will take place on Interstates 80 and 94.
According to a Facebook post by the Illinois Trucking Association they have received “credible report that protesters are planning to march onto Interstate 80/Interstate 94 by blocking the first three exits (NB and SB) inside the state of Indiana (Calumet Ave, Indianapolis Blvd, and Kennedy Ave). Protesters are planning to enter the roadway simultaneously at 4:00 pm today.”
The Illinois State Police also posted a Facebook message cautioning drivers of “numerous planned protests and civil unrest planned in our state” and issued some safety tips for drivers:

▪️Call 911 if you witness any suspicious activity
▪️Watch your local news for current information
▪️If you hear of a planned protest, avoid the area
▪️Avoid any place with active police activity
