It seems truckers have now have to worry about being attacked by rioting individuals across the nation as rioters target trucks and their cargo during riots which originally started as peaceful protests protesting the in custody death of George Floyd, a Minneapolis resident whose killing by a police officer on May 25th was captured via social media.
As we reported yesterday, truck drivers reportedly were facing attacks ranging from bricks and debris being thrown from overpasses across the country.
Early Saturday morning, things took a deadly turn as protesters blocked a St. Louis intersection by setting fires blocking Traffic. A Fed-Ex truck driver pulling doubles was stopped by protesters early this morning. Videos posted online show what happen next with the driver pulling away through the blocked traffic when the protesters began banging on the truck, and unknowingly dragged a protester nearly 5-blocks before stopping. The protester was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
In Los Angeles, rioters blocked several intersections, and looted semi-trailers and box trucks as they were forced to stop due to the traffic. In Minneapolis, rioters looted a UPS trailer (video below).
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz held a press-conference early Saturday confirming truckers are being attacked saying the rioters are stopping semis by blocking the roads and raiding what is in them.
Protests and riots took place in dozens of cities across the country last night with massive looting, arson and shootings. Truckers need to STAY HOME or at the very least, avoid these locations.
