Trump Job Approval Ratings among Likely Black Voters Skyrocket in Recent Rasmussen Polls
According to Rasmussen’s daily presidential tracking poll, President Trump’s job approval among Black voters has increased almost two-fold this week. The President’s job approval among likely black voters increased from 25% on Monday to 46% on Friday. The largest increase was between October 22nd, the last presidential debate, and the 23rd. After the debate, President Trump’s job approval ratings among likely Black voters increased from 37% to 46%
Rasmussen reports the results of its presidential job approval poll daily. For most of his presidency, President Trump’s job approval numbers have hovered around the mid to high forties. Currently, Rasmussen is the only polling outlet tracking presidential job approval rates daily.
With polling that often shows higher approval rating and higher polling generally for President Trump, Rasmussen is often an outlier in presidential polling. Rasmussen utilizes different polling techniques than most other firms. Rasmussen uses “likely voters” in their polls for all their presidential polling instead of register voters, which most other firms use until Election day gets closer. Some argue using likely voters skews the polling towards Republicans, as they tend to be more regular voters than other groups.
