WATCH: Gunfire erupts during little league in North Charleston
Youth participating in a youth little league game on Monday night were forced to duck for cover after several people opened fire on each other nearby.
According to a video posted online, the children were playing at Pepperhill Park in the 7600 block of Brandywine Road in North Charleston when the gunfire rang out. In the insane video, the coach is seen yelling for players to “get down” as dozens of gunshots rang out.
According to eyewitnesses, several carloads of teenagers pulled into the parking lot and began fighting. As they attempted to flee in vehicles, the teens began shooting at each other as they fled.
North Charleston Police spokesman Harve Jacobs said while there are no suspects in custody, they will be investigating and pursuing the shooting suspects “to the fullest extent of the law and will do everything in their power to locate and arrest the individuals involved in this heinous and reckless act.”
There were no injuries reported.
