
Youth counselor sexually assaults girl in school classroom, California police say
SAN JOSE, California – On Monday, the San Jose police department released information about the arrest of a youth counselor in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a student at Hubbard Middle School.
Police have arrested Silvio Yoc-Aguilar, 27, and charged him with multiple counts of sexual assault of a child. Yoc-Agular was working as a youth counselor for the organization New Hope for Youth, and was assigned to Hubbard Middle School at the time of the assaults.
According to SJPD, on November 28, the SJPD’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) /Child Exploitation Detail (CED) responded to a residence in San José to investigate a sexual assault of a minor.
Detectives interviewed the victim, and she disclosed inappropriate sexual contact with Yoc-Agular. The victim claims that these incidents occurred in a classroom at Hubbard Middle School.
On November 29, members of the Silicon Valley Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force/Child Exploit Detail arrested suspect Yoc-Aguilar at his residence in San José. He was subsequently booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for multiple counts of sexual assault.
Detectives believe there could be additional victims due to the suspect’s position as a person of trust at the school.
