MINNEAPOLIS — The standoff between the Trump Administration and Minnesota’s local leadership reached a violent new low last night as a group of domestic terrorists laid siege to a hotel housing federal law enforcement.
While the city burned, Minneapolis police and Hennepin County deputies were nowhere to be found—reportedly under orders to “stand down” as federal agents were left to fend for themselves against an organized mob of agitators.
The Siege of the Hilton
The attack began around midnight when a large group of masked individuals, identified by federal sources as “domestic terrorists,” descended upon the hotel where Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agents were staying.
Videos surfaced on social media showing the terrifying scene. In one clip from ScooterCaster, federal agents are seen desperately attempting to hold the hotel’s glass doors as a mob armed with bats and metal pipes smashes the front entrance. In another, recorded by Frontlines TPUSA, an agent is seen emerging from the lobby with a blood-soaked hand after being struck by a blunt object thrown from the crowd.
Despite the severity of the assault, witnesses reported that local police cruisers appeared just blocks away and u-turned away and refused to engage.
“A Bloody Betrayal”
The lack of assistance from local authorities has sparked outrage within the federal law enforcement community. According to a senior DHS official, a lone federal agent battled the mob for over an hour with no backup from the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) or Hennipen Sheriff’s Department.
“Where is the local pd.”

The situation was only stabilized after federal reinforcements—including Border Patrol BORTAC teams—arrived on the scene to disperse the crowd using flashbangs and chemical irritants. By that point, the hotel lobby was a wreckage of broken glass and blood.
The Political Fallout
The incident provides a grim backdrop to President Trump’s recent “Common Sense” ultimatum to Governor Tim Walz and Mayor Jacob Frey. The President has repeatedly warned that the “sanctuary” policies of Democrat-led cities would lead to this exact brand of anarchy.
If local law enforcement is being told to withhold aid from federal partners during a violent riot, the line between “political resistance” and “criminal obstruction” has officially been crossed. The DOJ is reportedly looking into whether these stand-down orders constitute a violation of federal law.
The Bottom Line: While Governor Walz and Mayor Frey continue to posture about “community safety,” they have effectively turned Minneapolis into a “no-man’s land” where those sworn to protect the country are hunted by terrorists with the quiet consent of the local government.
